Kansas State needs to understand what it is. No big-time current coach was coming to Manhattan. Bruce Weber is good move.

I guess of course I already knew that.  My problem is... This isn't even a risk, we just know he can't win big and can't recruit big.  He sucked a few weeks ago and Currie thinks he will wake up in a harder place to recruit and all of a sudden be awesome.  I wanted a risk hire like Underwood or Doug so that I at least had HOPE.

I agree with Goodman. Although I have a higher opinion of our program obviously.

He HAS been to a national championship game and won Big 10 titles. As far as the recruiting aspect is concerned, if that is a weakness, hopefully he'll surround himself with the right people.

I might be mistaken, but didn't he go to the national championship game with Self's recruits.  He hasn't really done alot since then, and his teams and records have slowly deteriorated to where he finally got fired.

Bottom line is we hired a coach that got FIRED because he sucked and lost a coach who was wanted by many.

Weber is probably a better X's and O's guy, but bottom line is if you can't get good players into Manhattan KS...you are going to have problems.  Weber was decent in Illinois recruiting, but bringing them to Kansas is a little tougher.  I can't believe Currie made this hire.  I would have rather seen Hensen.  At least he has a passion for KSU
