Time to ramp up the talks?
« on: October 15, 2012, 12:19:28 PM »

Most have probably seen that the preseason Big 12 rankings came out.  They have us slated as #5 and I can't argue much with that.  I personally think we will finish 3rd, but time will tell.

Why I wanted to start up the conversation is because I have been rather disappointed as the applause the team receives at the football games.  Against KU, I could barely tell if anyone was excited or just being nice.  We had a great team last year and again made the tournament.  We lost only 1 key individual and I expect a sweet 16 appearance at minimum this year.

15 days and our first game starts, so time to get excited!  I know football is going strong and keeping everyones stress and nerves sky high, but lets not forget our new coach and the excitement we need to ensure we have the best home court advantage in the Big 12.

I think the success in Football is taking a lot of focus (totally serious) and people realize that the true tests for our Basketball team is still over a month away. Another contributing factor, for me at least, was all the BS that went down last year. I know we return a lot of talent, but there was SO much drama and heart ache that I'm just ready to see them play and I'm not really "buying in" as I usually do in the pre season.
