TCU (and others) invited to Join the Big 12

If they accept is this the death bringer of the Big East? Also when Snyder retires we will need GP to leave TCU for how many years before we can hire him? Just thinking in advance so I can let him know when to leave TCU.

Other schools will be receiving invites soon!

Tulane?!?!?  That would just further that the Big 12 is becoming a joke.  TCU adds nothing to the conference.  We already have most of the Texas coverage.  TCU has a decent football program, but their stadium seats 30k...I think Baylor has more available (sans tarp).  Other than that decent football program, TCU has no other competitive sports, and their football program is showing that it's not what it once was this season...

TCU has as many BCS bowl appearances & more BCS bowl victories than CU, A&M, Mizzou combined.

Also TCU is fairly legit in Baseball. Recruiting will pick up for them in all sports now they are in a BCS conference.

They also played 1-2 real opponents a year to reach said BCS games.

2008 - 3 ranked opponents W- BYU   L- OU, Utah   No BCS bowl game
2009 - 2 ranked opponents W- BYU, Utah    Lost to Boise in BCS bowl game
2010 - 1 ranked opponent W- Utah  Beat Wisconsin in BCS bowl game

I think any team in the Big 12 could have a pretty successful season if their hardest opponent was Utah, they certainly don't look like a powerhouse over in the PAC.

Maybe I'm alone in my opinion, but I find the Boise St's, TCU's, and Utah's of the football world to be very underwhelming but have a very favorable schedule that allows them to be successful.  I'll give it to Boise for actually scheduling tough OOC games and usually winning.  They've earned their stripes more so than TCU.

Can't fault them for playing an easy out of conference. They are MW so don't have too many opportunities to play ranked opponets. TCU will keep the Dallas market for the BIG12 and will expand their stadium soon. Think K-State ~1990. I see a lot of potential with a BCS TCU.

TCU just moments ago officially accepted the bid so that means we're either at 9 or 10? Once Mizzou finally makes up their mind we'll have to decide if we're going after 2 or 3 more teams? Louisville makes alot of sense, don't they? Who else?

If Missouri stays we pick up West Virginia and Louisville

If Missouri Goes we go HARD after BYU?

What about West Virginia, Louisville and Cincinnati? Decent football programs and the basketball (which would negate the fact that we're getting TCU's basketball program) with Frank vs. Huggs probably twice a year plus Frank and Huggs vs. Cincinnati probably twice a year would be FREAKIN' FANTASTIC!
