Chargers 'not planning' to keep Sproles
By Mark J. Miller

Running back Darren Sproles has been with the San Diego Chargers since coming into the league in 2005, but it appears his time with the team is over. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the team is "not planning" to keep the 27-year-old.

Last year, the 5-foot-6 back carried the ball 50 times for 267 yards with no touchdowns. He's only scored six rushing touchdowns in his career (three of them came in the 2009 season). He's actually scored more as a receiver, pulling in 11 balls for touchdowns in his career. He's also had four touchdowns in his career on punt and kick returns.

All that said, the Union-Tribune reports that the team is ready to say goodbye to its former franchise player.

I wonder what kind of money he may be able to pull down now with that Franchise label they put on him. What teams out there are in need for a good receiving back/return man.
