« on: March 05, 2011, 05:43:37 PM »

I didn't do this work but someone else did.  Interesting how close their numbers are for conference play.  I'm a Spradling believer.  Great kid; great player; great Wildcat. I am glad he is wearing purple.

percentages: fg 37.7%, 3pt 33.3%, ft 82.4%
Spradling - first 8 gms: 16.5 min, 5.9pts, 1.4rb, 1.9ast, 1.6to, 0.5stl
percentages: fg 39.4%, 3pt 28.0%, ft 100%
Spradling - last 8 gms: 26.0 min, 7.4pts, 2.3rb, 1.8ast, 0.5to, 1.1stl

Selby total conference: 20.8 min, 7.8pts, 1.8rb, 2.2ast, 2.2to, 1.0stl
percentages: fg 38.2%, 3pt 31.1%, ft 55.6%
Selby first 8 (overlaps):22.9 min, 10 pts, 2.0rb, 2.3ast, 2.4to, 1.3stl
percentages: fg 41.9%, 3pt 36.4%, ft 60.0%
Selby last 8 (overlaps): 18.9 min, 6.5pts, 1.9rb, 2.4ast, 1.9to, 0.8stl
percentages: fg 36.5%, 3pt 31.8%, ft 58.3%

I always wished that they would do a Net tracking of stats.  I mean, take your points scored minus your turnovers that turned into points on the other end and add your points that steals turned into and so on.  Then you could look and see exactly how well each person contributed overall to the games outcome.

Kind of like a Kill/Death ratio in Modern Warfare. I think this is a terriffic idea. That stat really changed first person shooters. Made the people who got 30 kills stop bragging when they realized they died 50 times, and cause the team to lose.
