Coaching
« on: January 31, 2011, 12:04:35 PM »

I'm not going to address Martin here, but WTF is wrong with our bigs?  Is it the players or the lack of coaching?

Kelly is a headcase, Asprilla transfers, and Judge has been a disappointment to this point.  I feel like these guys are great athletes but don't know what to do with their talent.  It was abundantly clear playing KU, watching Morris x2 and TRob destroy us.  They were always in position for easy shots.  We need a Danny Manning type coach.

I refuse to blame Frank. He was a genius last year.

Agreed.  This is by no means a "Fire Frank" topic.  I've just had this sentiment all season long and it became abundantly clear on Saturday.

I'm thinking the team/program would be better off with an assistant coach that has more experience coaching "bigs" instead of one of the guys we currently have on the staff.  Not naming any names, just believe this is a huge need if we want to take the next step.

So what do we know about frank based on his time here.  We had one of the best college athletes of all time and only won one game in the tournament. He handles success very well which made him a media favorite.  Today, coach k made him look like a very very inexperienced coach.  He doesn't know how to handle failure and it is starting to look like he won't get us going in the right direction anytime soon.
