On the Cardinal photos, I was using my Nikon D700 and Sigma 150-500mm zoom @ 500mm.  I was using Program Mode and ISO 1600 with AutoFocus.  Just framed the cardinal and shot about 50 shots.  Some good, some bad, but that's why you shoot a bunch...
