Duke?

Thoughts on how we match up against Duke?  I think our big men down low are what's gonna be key to a win.

I definately agree, our big men need to step up alot more than they did tonight!  I am just glad we have alot of them.  I wil be honest with you...after watching Duke play that first game I think we stand a very good chance of competing with them.  They were very sloppy and relied alot on the fact that Plumlee had 1 foot on Marquettes tallest guy.  We just need to where him out and I think we will be sitting just fine but that is just my two cents...

Good win tonight!  This will be a good early season match up for us to see where we are at.  I think this game will come down to Free Throws as many of our games will this season.  We will get to the FT alot as we will all season, but I dont think we can go -12 from the line like we did tonight.  Chances are we don't shoot 60% from the 3 in the first half again against a much better defensive Duke team, so the free throw line will be very important, if we knock down 70% we have a chance, if not, our chance will slim down.

I don't think there is a favorable match up advantage at any position for any player across the board.  As far as starters go I think Duke may have the better overall top to bottom.  That is not a concern because we will have a huge advantage with out bench players.  Duke went 8 deep with only 7 guys getting double digits in minutes, Kansas State went 10 deep, not sure on how many minutes Vic played, but it should be around 8-10 which makes 9-10 guys getting double digit minutes.  The depth and playing back to back should favor KSU tremendously as even Pullen got alot of rest tonight, the physical play of KSU will also wear down those Dukies.

I don't have a prediction for this game, but I do think it will be a down to the wire game either way. Hope it swings in favor of the Cats! Can't Wait!
