Keep an eye on Bernard Thomas, one of the top uncommitted CBs...

wouldn't you include Daniel Sams as one of our top high school recruits, or were you including him when you said you were glad to see he actually signed with us.

So overall how is this class looking? Big 12? Nation?

So i understand how the Brown bros. and burns are included into this class because of transfers, but i need help understanding how these guys from last years class are included into this years. is it because we signed too many for the amount of scholarships we had last year or what?

Destin Mosley

Kason Hostrup

Kyle Klein

Curry sexton

will Arthur have 2 years and Bryce have 3?

Unfortunately, this class ranks last in the Big 12 (per Rivals).  Keep in mind this does not include the transfer of the Browns and Burns.

Hard to evaluate the class with those guys  left out of the rankings.  The positive note, we have 25-30 signees.  That adds some much needed depth to the team.

Those four guys are considered grayshirts.  When they signed last year they had the understanding that they would not practice with the team but be guaranteed a scholarship the following year.  This allows them to workout/bulk up and start their academic career early.  Not sure how they apply to the NCAA limits of 25 scholarships in a recruiting class.

Its a late post, but still a good read.  ESPN seems to think we did rather good on signing day, filling our gaps, but not just with anyone, with solid transfers/jucos.  Yahoo thinks we were 10th in the Big 12 on recruiting, which I disagree with.  Tuggle can truly be a LOT better then anyone expects, and teams will still be eyeing brown.  Defense could be twice as good as last year (I think that is still bad), but imagine a couple of our games were we actually stop teams from breaking records.... we would have won.  I am excited.

I think they factored in the transfers.  Here is another ESPN analysis that is also a little more favorable...

KANSAS STATE WILDCATS

The class

Signees: 32 (13 enrolled early, eight junior college, three transfers)

Top prospects: Kansas State's highest-rated recruit is four-star defensive end Ian Seau, the nephew of NFL star Junior Seau and the nation's No. 18 defensive end, but he won't be the one K-State fans are most excited to see next year. That title goes to the pair of brothers who transferred to Manhattan after stops at Miami and Tennessee as one of the nation's top linebackers and running backs. Arthur Brown and Bryce Brown, Wichita natives, are part of the hefty class. Defensive tackles Sam Harvill and Lamonte Clark hope to offer help up front with defensive end Hunter Davis and outside linebacker Mike Moore.

Needs met: Kansas State wanted help at defensive tackle, and certainly got it with two of their top recruits occupying the spot at the teeth of the defense. Clark weighs in at an impressive 310 pounds, and if he can become a contributor, he'll be a rare 300-pounder in the Big 12. Additionally, the Wildcats may have their new starting quarterback in this class, juco transfer Justin Tuggle. He's the man who replaced Cam Newton at Blinn College in Texas, and with Collin Klein reportedly moving back to wide receiver, don't be surprised if he's K-State's starter next fall.

Analysis: In most spots, the Brown brothers won't be factored into recruiting rankings, but they could have a big say in how successful the Wildcats are in 2011. Daniel Thomas is gone, and if Bryce Brown can tap into the potential that made him the nation's top running back recruit in his 2009 class and get rid of whatever kept him off the field at Tennessee, he'd make a lot of Kansas State fans happy. The same goes for Arthur Brown at linebacker. Their 32 commits make up the biggest class in the Big 12, and if their juco transfers to contribute immediately, this could end up being a very underrated class, ranking seventh in the Big 12.

I'll take 7th in the big 12. Sounds like they are confident all our gaps were filled and we have a solid class to build off of.
