I was going to post it but is completely worthless....here it is anyway in case you don't believe me...

For the first time since the latest batch of rumors concerning his return to Kansas State started swirling around Manhattan, Kan., former South Florida head coach Jim Leavitt spoke about his future plans.

Well, sort of, anyway. The short interview he game via phone on Monday afternoon was full of "no comments" and non-denials and will likely only elevate the buzz.

While preparing for an afternoon jog near his Florida home, the former Bill Snyder defensive coordinator never once tossed out anything that so much as sounded like a dismissal of the coaching rumors. Instead, Leavitt decided to stick to his silenced guns by changing subjects.

This is the transcript of short conversation between GoPowercat com and Leavitt on Monday.

I was just calling to see if you'd be willing to comment on the rumors that are tying you back to Kansas State. Is something in the works?
I'll tell you what. I'm going to stay away from everything right now. I'll tell you what, what do they call that? Plead the fifth? That's what I'm going to do right now. I guess that's the deal.

So you're not going to talk about it at all?
I'm not going to say anything right now. I know you'll probably hate me for this -- I hope not -- but I just want to stay away from everything right now.

If there was nothing there, you'd say it wouldn't you?
I'm staying away from (talking about) it. That's why I didn't call you back last week. I'm not going to comment on anything right now.

That's understandable. How about this? Are you looking to be employed next season and in what capacity?
I'm just going to stay away from everything. Right now, my focus is on my little girl, Sophia. She is my focus. Well, her and that I'm going to go on a hour-long run right now before the rain hits. I might go to the range and start hitting here pretty soon.

Look at you, using your free time to get into shape. How much of that free time do you think you'll have left?
I just ... I can't right now.

Do you know when you'll be willing to talk? A week, two weeks?
I don't know right now. I take things day by day.

Jim, were you in Manhattan this week?
I'm going to go for this run. You know what? You're really good. I'm sorry. I really am sorry. I'll talk quite a bit to different people, but I'm just not willing to at this point. I really am sorry.

Yeah, you're really good at this too. But OK, we'll be in touch sometime sooner than later. Have a good day.
You too, buddy. Hopefully I can make it through this run.

Leavitt served K-State as an assistant from 1990 until 1995, spending time as both a linebackers coach and the team's defensive coordinator before accepting the head coaching job at USF, a program from which he built from scratch but was dismissed in 2009 after being accused by the university of striking a player as well as interfering with the school's internal investigation into his alleged actions.

During his time as a head coach, Leavitt compiled a 95-57 record. Rumors about his return to the Wildcats' sideline began to swirl following a 2010 season that saw the team's defense, led by coordinator Chris Cosh, finish 106th nationally in yards allowed.

It was reported this weekend that Cosh's son Billy, a quarterback on the K-State roster, would transfer away from the school to join James Madison for the upcoming year.

Calls and emails to Leavitt's agent placed last week were not returned
