I will say that last Friday we looked like we were not conditioned very well. I think 2 weeks in a row playing in these conditions probably upped our conditioning level a lot. It will be interesting to see how this team does when the heat goes away, I think they will be hard to keep up with come the 4th qtr.

Amazing fan turnout for such a hot game. The stadium did a great job keeping everyone safe. I saw many times people getting carted out and the staff did a great job keeping everyone safe when they succumbed to the heat. Also I heard that cold towels were being handed out... Didn't see those.

Snyder was wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt. Snyder was wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt. Snyder was wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt. fairly sure I saw a turtle neck too.

:Drink:  Yay, our first of many wins!

I didn't think I would say it, but I actually think Snyder might be able to pull of the two QB's this year.  This past weekend wasn't perfect, but I could see a glimpse of a very successful scheme with both Waters and Sams.  Besides the 4th and 1 when he didn't put in Sams (avg 7yds a carry) to ensure the first down, it was close to spot on.  I know Sams is crazy fast, but why does our read option have so many more holes when he runs it vs. Waters?  It was driving me nuts.  Waters can run, but it just seems our O-Line goes a bit slower with him.  At the end of the day, I have to say, our guys were just worn down and it showed.  We set a record with consecutive games over 100 and that has to be crazy hot on the football field.  For the conditions they were playing in, I was impressed with the game, 95% of the play calls, fact that the game was packed, and the fixes on both the defense and O-line from our loss.

The Wichita Eagle has really gone down hill. In the lower stats area they still think we are playing the BiZon

We apologize that our statistical “hustle boards” on the south end of the stadium were not operational for last week’s game. Those boards were inadvertently damaged during construction of the WSC, and they are so old that spare parts are no longer in production.  Over the last several weeks one of our staff members has actually tracked down the long ago designer of the boards (who is now retired) and a potential temporary fix is in the works!  As we have discussed previously we are now actively studying significant sound, video and connectivity improvements for implementation as part of Phase III of the BSFS master plan.

I didn't know it was THAT old!

I sure as heck wouldn't listen to Walker if I was a player, but I would listen to the guy who can back up his talk.

This is exactly the thought I had. Was first thinking Walker should be the guy, but don't believe he can carry that weight.

Zimmerman?  He is smart and very field quick, he knows what to do and say, I just think he hates to speak up.  But so did AB, and when he did speak, people listened.  I sure as heck wouldn't listen to Walker if I was a player, but I would listen to the guy who can back up his talk.

One thing I keep reading in all the articles is our lack of leadership. Last year we had Klein and Brown as the leaders of their units with no questions, but it's not looking like anyone is stepping up to be a vocal or physical leader on either side.

Hopefully Waters is able to get the trust of the team and take on this role, but it's not looking like there is a go to guy on defense.

Yeah, but it's ISU, and if we are bad THIS would be the year I would expect them to finally get to close win.

Yeah it's going to be no different than having a RB that can throw when he's in the game. Even more so than Klein was.
