Title: The Obvious
Post by: Lynch on October 29, 2012, 07:42:59 AM
Obviously we need to win out to have a chance at the NC. However Ubben and several other writers say that if ND or Oregon win out that we will not be going to a BCS bowl. I think they are over looking that USC loss and how that will hurt both of those teams. Also Oregon State loss, so that's two hits Oregon took to their SOS this week.

Well no. We'll be going to the Fiesta Bowl and with a win there we'll split the National Championship with somebody.

By split I assume you mean that the AP will give us the Nat'l Championship and the BCS will give the winner of that game. I don't think that has happened for a few years.

First off,

While it could happen that we have all four teams undefeated, that scenario would appear to be slim.  Not saying it can't happen, however the odds are low.

Second off,

If Alabama and Notre Dame are both undefeated, there is no way Oregon or KSU will be in the championship game.  I know that really sucks, but do you think that 'old money' will let that happen ?

Third off,

Enjoy the ride !  I know I am.  And if we are undefeated and go to the Fiesta, that is still good.
