Title: Cam Newton
Post by: Albatross on November 10, 2010, 06:13:04 PM
Do you think the reason Snyder decided to pass on Cam is b/c of all of these allegations now surfacing?

No. I think it's because we are already paying of one crook... RP.

If you have artwork, I can add it.  Careful not to be racist, though...  I might be able to 'borrow' this from the Warzone:

I don't think we ever had a chance at this kid.  And its not like we are willing to pursue troubled QBs... Jeremiah Masoli anyone?

Ya, our QB recruiting has been subpar at best.  I am looking forward to next years Juco transfer though.  Should have a solid offensive again, which makes me feel good since it seems like thats all that is required in the Big 12 to win games.  Goodness, if our defense improves the slightest, we should enjoy our first year with round robin!

I feel so bad for Cam. It's looking like his father had EVERYTHING to do with all this crap. It's sad really. Is it a lack of intelligence?

He is eligible. They are blaming it all on his dad and said he didn't know anything about it. I think we all know he knew, but at least they aren't sacrificing him.

He definately knew....how else would he know what school paid for him and who to commit too??  But who cares, everything is a business so if he is that good then they should pay for him....

I think this opens a big can of worms.... could ruin college sports as we know it.  NCAA had a big chance to take a step towards ending pay for play schemes, but instead they are giving student athletes a loophole to getting paid.  As long as the athlete doesn't know (or pretends to not know) they are in the clear.  Not that I think it's right for Cam to be suspended, but this opens the door to a very corrupt recruiting system unfortunately.

Or they could just allow pay to play anyways? The schools the can pay the most already get the top talent so nothing would change there. I'm sure T-Boon wouldn't mind this approach.

I definitely wouldn't mind this approach!  ;D  OSU would field the best teams in every sport...Just add to the stock pile of national championships we have already!

Holy  :riight:
This could be epic for us though.  Think how many of the juco's would go untouched.   :Drink:  When does this start, because I need another Big 12 title!
