Title: Assistant Coaches
Post by: ben8322 on March 27, 2012, 07:40:19 AM
I've heard from my buddy in the South Caroline Athletic Department that Figger is going with Martin, he is unsure about the other coaches.

Just read this from Kitchen.

Curtis Kitchen ‏ @curtiskitchen
RT @jonerskine: @curtiskitchen Underwood will be staying at K-State regardless. One of the things the President sold to boosters yesterday.

Does anyone else buy into the theory that the team, including Brad Underwood, really wanted Frank to move on and that they were tired of his antics.  Since they are all staying (last I heard) and if Kitchen's is right...it could be a possibility.

From what Kitchen was saying last night BU status is still a little shaky. I guess meetings with him went late into the night and one person came out saying things aren't looking positive.

Oh...then Currie must have been in the meeting too.  He wants to run off all remnants of Martins' team.

I only want one thing out of this entire hire process, and that is that we retain Underwood.  I am dying for the successful year next year that I think is possible, and if Weber keeps Underwood, then I feel very confident that success could be greater then expected.  Players were not happy with Frank (we know 3 forsure, not sure how many others), so now that they SHOULD be happier, plus their skill, plus Underwood to ease the transition a crappp load, then boom... good year incoming.  If we lose him, I just don't think you can have that GREAT of a year (probably good, just not great) and then we lose 3 seniors, which means the following year will be tough.  :(

"I can tell you that Underwoods house is not on the active MLS system in Manhattan. I can also tell you that he is leaving (unless a miracle happens) and going with Frank. Currie screwed this up big time. I can't go into details, but Brad leaving is Curries fault. That I am sure of."

This is from GoPo. It's from TX a poster who announced the Snyder retirement well in advance of it happening. He has BIG donor ties.

‏ @curtiskitchen

Just received word from 2 sources Brad Underwood will not return to #kstate. One source says he is headed to S. Carolina.

I've heard that HCBW has hired former SIU head coach Chris Lowery to be on the staff but can't find confirmation.

I don't see how Currie is effecting Underwood.  Currie and others have made it clear that he doesn't even know the assistants.  Just works through the head coaches and expects them to management everything from assistants to athletes and all.  Underwood is dye hard K-State... so I don't want to believe it, and wont until I see something official.
