Title: What is this team?
Post by: Lynch on January 16, 2012, 02:09:41 PM
I'm having a hard time pin pointing exactly what this team is. It feels different from the disappointing start to last year, mainly because we have played 3 really good teams. After the close loss to Baylor I still felt really good about this squad. Then OU happened. They never were on the same page, the same issues that caused us to lose to Baylor hadn't been resolved and we have players that are not fully committed to Frank's system and were running stairs the day before the game (still undecided if this was a bad or good idea). I know it's a long season, but road wins are hard to come by and when you have a team that has been performing like OU had you need to get that W on the road. We can't take any more close home losses, no matter the team, or this season will turn ugly fast and could easily put us in the bottom half of the Big 12.

Yeah I have the same struggle watching our team. This Texas game tomorrow will be a nice test for our team to lead into a nice run against some mediocre Big 12 teams. I see us winning around 20-22 wins this year putting us on the bubble getting into the tourny. I don't see us fixing all of our issues being this deep into the season and with no go to guy right now does not help. Lets own Texas tomorrow like we do and hopefully get some of our swagger back.

Still trying to figure it out myself, but I think the bench players have stepped up in a big way latelly. Our depth is what is going to make or break us this year, we have a lot more talent on our bench than most of the teams in the Big 12, it's just a matter of how the come to play.
