OU's loss last night significantly reduces the chance for us to beat them next Saturday... >:(
-
I disagree. Tech provided the Blue Print we need to expose their defensive gaps and basically we saw that our offensive style will be successful
-
Have seen a few different lines on this game. Was thinking K-State would be somewhere around a 2 touchdown underdog?
-
I hope you are right. We can certainly learn from TT. But I just thought OU would be fired up after the loss. They surely have more talent.
Of course, we can still win the game.
Yes, we are a two TD underdog.

Big question for Saturday:
Will KSU finally get some love from anyone other than computers after we win?
-
If we win one of two things will happen.
1. We will FINALLY after be validated in the media's mind even though for the past 5 weeks all they've said before every game is that game will prove how good we are. This one will finally be the one to quite all critics.
OR
2. They will call OU over rated and not as good as assumed and give us no respect for beating them.
Anyways it doesn't matter because the computer is the one that puts us in the BCS bowl.
-
Having been a fan of a school where we are STILL not validated and questioned whether our team is really Top 5 material, my guess is the option 2 will be the way the media goes. Sucks, I know...
-
I agree with Orange, #2 seems realistic. Though... I thought that about them the last 3 weeks, so nothing new in my eyes. Pardon my french, but Landry has gone full tard and I don't see that changing for our game. I just hope their defense doesn't reverse its 180 its pulled in the last couple weeks and goes back to a stylish skilled squad.
Too Excited for Saturdays Mid Week Prediction:
37-31 Cats
+2 on turnovers, I honestly think we get 3, but we hand them a ball early.
No Special teams block or score, though solid play all the way around keeps field position in our favor.
We win the time of possession.
Bold Prediction: 4 sacks.
Halftime Score: 20-17 Cats
-
As in most games field position is paramount, but if we don't win it we will get romplestomped in this game.
-
The sack stat for OU is horribly skewed. Landry would rather get a grounding call than get hit. HBCK would rather put a defender on his ass.
-
Yeah that stat has had me worried. Hopefully you are correct and getting pressure isn't as hard as it looks on paper and there are just a lot of throw aways that don't get recorded.
-
Am I insane having 0 doubts that we win on Saturday?
-
I first gave us 63% chance of winning after our KU game, then down to 39% after OU lost, I am back up to 48%. Bottom line, I expected 7 wins, I am at 7 wins, 5 games left, 2 are winnable, 2 are possible, 1 is unlikely. I feel confident the Cats are going to exceed my expectations!
-
Their Center is also out of the game saturday. So theres that.

Oklahoma is favored by 13.5 points
TeamRankings win odds for Kansas State: 36 percent
It's called smoke and mirrors only when it's not sustainable. Kansas State's get-outgained-but-win act is here to stay. Excellence at game-turning performance indicators like third down and red zone efficiency, turnover margin and big-play special teams are consistent hallmarks of Bill Snyder teams past, present and future.
Another constant is stellar performance as a home underdog. Two touchdowns would have been ample even before Oklahoma's season came crashing down last week. Now the visitor can scarcely call itself the favorite. The Sooners had three big questions entering a season that was supposed to produce a national title run, and all three came home to roost in last week's home loss to Texas Tech, the lowest moment of the Bob Stoops era.
Brent Venables' defense has been sliding for three years now, while Landry Jones has played well 90 percent of the time but has never quite looked like a quarterback that could make it through a season without a costly performance. And the Oklahoma special teams -- particularly the placekicking -- have long been mediocre for a top team.
Kansas State can't win in Stillwater next week, but the Cats have a great shot at this one and they know it. Either way, get used to seeing the Powercat logo everywhere. The Wildcats lose just one true impact player off this year's team and will enter next season as the Big 12 favorites. Snyder produced six 11-win seasons in a span of seven years during his first tour on the sideline of the stadium that now bears his name. The upcoming run might not be quite as impressive, but it will produce at least one conference championship and plenty of big wins. The first defining moment is upon them, and Snyder's charges are up to the task.
The pick: Kansas State 31, Oklahoma 28

WHAT!!! GREAT FIND.
-
Found the answer
Outside the pocket, OU quarterback Landry Jones is completing just over 37 percent of his passes this year with no touchdowns and four interceptions. He's averaging 3.3 yards per attempt outside the pocket.
