Suites! Rumor has it that funding is currenlty being aquired to build out the West side with a larger press box and additional suites. Can anyone get confirmation on what has been put into motion already. If I remember correctly we have already had an additional LARGE bond approved that goes beyond the bathroom and practice facility addition.

Yes.

Below is the link that also confirms press box, restroom, and concession upgrades to come. Now we just need give K-State about 5 years to act on it. :cyclist: Woot

K-State opens bidding for football project
Staff reports
Kansas State issued a notice of request for architectural services for upcoming renovations to Bill Snyder Family Stadium, according to a listing in the Kansas Register today.
K-State lists the project as a $60 million phase, though additional phases could follow the project.
The improvements to the football stadium will center around the replacement of the press box on the west side, while also focusing on the outdated restroom and concession areas.
In the notice, K-State says the project will include a structure that provides a "front-door" to the athletic complex to display the success and tradition of K-State athletics, which is expected to be a Hall of Fame.
Also listed as components to the project:
• A central ticket office.
• Expanded revenue and suite seating areas
• Kitchen/commissary facilities
• Training table/dining hall
• Modern broadcast, electronic and print media areas
• Safety and security/ADA upgrades

I just got tingly all over. Finally spending some money on our biggest revenue generator.
-
OK I haven't heard anything about this in awhile and as most of you know I HATE our current press box.

Seriously this belongs in a trailer park.

How fast time flies and state-of-art becomes "trailer park." I'm excited about the proposed renovations, but I remember in 1992-93 when the press box was new, shiny and a jewel for the stadium. It represented a turning point for K-State - spending money on athletics; and this was before the football was winning.

Well poor maintenance and a huge water stain running down the back side reveal it was made out of aluminum.
