Title: Daniel Thomas draft stock
Post by: Felis Silvestris on April 01, 2011, 07:45:33 AM
Todd McShay, ESPN draft guru, was on 810 sports radio this morning a gave his evaluation of Daniel Thomas.  Here's the bullet points...

Positives:
1. Size- Weighs in at 225 lbs but runs like he's only 195
2. Footwork is by far the most impressive aspect of his game

Negatives:
1. Relies too much on finesse, will need to focus on being a powerback in the NFL
2. FUMBLES- Worst of the top 12 backs in the draft

McShay also noted that his speed (or lack thereof) is not a factor.  Projects him to be in the 2nd round (or 3rd round as worst-case scenario).

Sounds good considering he was nursing an injury during the combine and his pro day. I do remember some fumbles but no more than 3 or 4 total. Big 12 must of had some very good ball handlers last year. wow.

In the latest mock drafts...

Kiper has DT going in the second round to the Patriots

McShay has dropped him to the third round to Detroit

I love D-Train to death but It would be hard seeing him in the league. He has a ton of power, but speed may be an issue. I just hope he doesn't end up like Thomas Clayton.
