I'm not going to complain about Player or Coach of the Year because I half-knew they would give it to KU. My beef is that Jake was not named Defensive Player of the Year and McGruder was only 3rd team all Big 12. What are your thoughts?

Well, I am trying to keep the perspective that I am probably more mad then normal just because he wasn't one of the top recipients. Unanimous 1st team though is nice and even Marcus didn't get that. However, IMO he was either POY or nothing. It was his overall game play and ability to help us finish with 10 wins that makes him a POY. He didn't provide any defense for 3 games and then for a stretch he even admits he would stand around and let people drop 20+ on him. I didn't watch enough of Balbay to compare if he was a better overall defender or not. Either way, there is no question by anyone that only 2 players in the league have the mix of talent to be both efficient as a leader/scorer/defender then Jake and Marcus. On a very positive note, plan on Jake proving it was a wrong pick for POY when we play KU on Friday. :Drink:
