Great link and it makes me think of the RPI comparisons for basketball.  Although I would love a 9-5, I'll agree more with their "Predicted Regular Season Record (Probability Model)" of 8-4.

Problem with these models, and this goes for any sport, is the unknown. We are talking about teams of college kids that are going through a ton of life experiences and are in reality still learning to deal (with loses or wins). It's hard to predict the unknowns, and there is a LOT of them for College sports.
