are we going to be happy that this is happening because we'd rather make a long run in the NIT than lose in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament?
I'm trying to put a positive spin on this

Rather lose in first round of ncaa

I think I disagree. Even though we thought we were going to have a veteran team that was going to make a Final Four run this roster isn't even close to the roster we had last year. Denis isn't the difference between last year and this year. Any kind of postseason experience at this point is going to be valuable.

1 game in ncaa tournament is watched by more recruits than any in the NIT. I don't see us winning the nit so 1 game in three ncaa is better than a 2nd rd loss in the nit.

But, Frank recruits guys who wants to play in his system. Recruits making a decision on a blow out first round loss are most likely not frank quality. Since like 8/11 guys on the team are fresh and soph, more post season play in the NIT could pay out next year.

Another hypothetical...
Would you accept losing the rest of our games (during regular season) if we had marquee wins against #1 KU tonight and soon to be #1 Texas in Austin???
It would be one hell of a ride but probably only get you to the NIT with 18 wins.
