Title: McReynolds to Mississippi State?

Talk about a nation-wide talent hunt -- one lineman from D.C. is drawing interest from schools in California and New York, with a trip to the midwest on the horizon. Right now, though he's got Mississippi on his mind.

Kevin McReynolds, a four-star defensive tackle from St. John's College, tells ESPN recruiting blogger Jamie Newberg that his visit to Mississippi State was "eye-opening."

"That program is going in the right direction," McReynolds said. "It's amazing how coach [Dan] Mullen has turned it around. It's an atmosphere for success and I can definitely see myself there."

McReynolds was impressed with the attacking style the Bulldogs play on defense, and also with the conference they play in. "I can't believe the SEC and the way they do things," he said. "It's so intense and they are very successful at it."

The 6-foot-2, 280-pounder says that Mississippi State is now in a virtual dead heat with UCLA and Syracuse (both of which he has already visited) for his services, with a trip to Kansas State coming this weekend. He says he'll make his decision on Signing Day.

Do/did we even stand a chance to land this guy?  Snyder better pull out all the stops to try to get this youngster to commit.

The problem is, and this is just me assuming things again based on Snyder's personality and after reading his book. I think Snyder recruits the 4* and no * recruits the exact same. No special treatment. We will never land a Cam Newton (money aside) because we won't put on the ritz.
