The University of Tulsa football team has apparently lost a three-star commitment from its recruiting class.
Choctaw defensive end Hunter Davis told the Tulsa World that he switched his commitment from Tulsa to Kansas State after visiting the Wildcats over the weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 246-pounder is rated the nation’s No. 35 prospect at strongside end.
He said he been leaning to the Wildcats ever since former TU head coach Todd Graham announced two weeks ago he was leaving the Hurricane to become the new head coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
“I was looking forward to playing for (former defensive line coach Paul Randolph) at Tulsa, but since the coaching change, I’ve been leaning toward Kansas State,†he said.
Randolph followed Graham to Pittsburgh.
Davis said he called TU coaches to notify them of his decision.
Davis totaled 59 tackles with three sacks as a senior and was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Associtation All-State team.
