Title: Bowl Projections
Post by: Albatross on November 21, 2010, 11:04:41 AM
Ummm so that just happened...now with one game to go and assuming we beat NT, we will come out of the season with 7 wins.  Looking at all the other Big XII teams that are bowl eligible, if we are honest with ourselves, KSU is not the most desireable team.  Besides the fact that we travel very well.  Is it possible that we could get left out, even with 7 wins??

Remember, all but KU could possibly be bowl eligible after next week....

I think we get into the Pin strip bowl. If we don't beat UNT this team doesn't deserve to even be considered.

Yes...probably Pin Strip because we travel well.  Even if we do beat UNT, I really don't think we are a deserving team with a defense that is almost the worst in the nation.  Hate to admit it, but there are others outside the conference that are more deserving.

I would not be surprised at all if we are overlooked all together.  Really hurts to admit that we suck.
Next year, we will be better, hopefully

To those of you who don't understand how the bowl process goes let me explain it to you. There is ZERO chance we get left out of a bowl game. There are 8 Big XII bowl slots and there are 8 Big XII bowl eligible teams (Nebraska, Missouri, K-State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Baylor and Texas Tech). Even if the Big XII had 9 bowl eligible teams we'd still be ok because we got our 7th win yesterday. Seven win teams have to be picked before six win teams, so therefore, we guaranteed ourselves a bowl game with the win yesterday.

I remember back to when the Cats went to the Fiesta Bowl and played Syracuse. We weren't great during that entire regular season but then we came out and blew their doors off and that propelled us into the 1998 season when we almost won the National Championship. The potential is there for something like that to take place again.

My prediction sure to go wrong:

Pinstripe Bowl vs. South Florida (97% chance)
Texas Bowl vs. Penn State or Michigan (2% chance)
Holiday Bowl vs. Arizona, Oregon State (?) or Washington (1% chance)

Looks like you have accepted the Pinstripe Bowl Bid.  Good luck!

My (quick) two cents is the Pinstripe Bowl will be great exposure for K-State but is terrible in terms of our fans.
