Title: Our Talent
Post by: Lynch on January 16, 2013, 09:01:29 AM
KSUFTW and I were talking yesterday about how we only have JR College kids. I found this little tid bit interesting.

Quote
Campbell becomes the 19th member of the 2013 K-State recruiting class and the sixth junior college prospect in the class. All six junior college players are three-star rated prospects by Rivals.com. He is one of four ranked among the top 100 junior college prospects in the nation, joining, Nate Jackson, Devon Nash and Jake Waters with that distinction.

Seems to be a little less juco than normal, which could be good for the future, but the juco we are getting are top talent.

That's good information.  Nice find.  To be honest, I care less that we are considered the biggest juco recruiter.  I mean.. the kids are getting a chance at D1 (grateful), have more on field experience, and fill in immediately.  Though moving forward with a nice mix seems like it could have more returns.  I enjoy seeing Texas bring in 4/5 stars who sometimes make the field, sometimes don't... but either way, don't ever add the star value.  Obviously Texas is going to have a higher chance to find a gem in the class, but seems more of a risk then just getting a proven commodity out of the juco ranks.
